A fantastic new exhibition was launched today at the Russian Pavilion dedicated to the Romanov dynasty, displaying the unique collection from the Daphne Museum in Sanremo . The exhibition presents clothes, prints and original photographs collected during 50 years of the activity of the Atelier Daphne in Sanremo and exhibited for the first time at Expo Milano 2015 in the Russian Pavilion until October 30th.
The Atelier Daphne in Sanremo created unique collection of silk scarves in honour of the Romanov family - depicting the "Romanov Rose". At the exhibition preview, the "Romanov Rose" was presented. A rose with many petals, its colours match those of the Romanovs heraldic crest. The petals symbolise the numerous descendants of this imperial family, the history of which is intertwined with the history of Russia itself, and which can lay claim to being one of the richest and most important dynasties in world history.
On display in the exhibition, visitors will be able to admire what is only a small part of the vast collection of objects belonging to Russian noblewomen who visited the Italian Riviera since mid 19th century, starting with Maria Alexandrovna Romanova, Empress of Russia, who considered Sanremo her second home and gave rise to the trend of Russian tourism to Riviera dei Fiori.
